We've received reports of an active phone scam targeting Bank of Herrin customers. Callers claim to be from our fraud department and ask customers to verify recent charges or provide account information.
How the scam works
• The caller says there's suspicious activity on your account
• They ask you to "verify" charges or confirm personal details
• They may request your login, password, PIN, or a code sent to your phone
• Caller ID may be spoofed to show Bank of Herrin's name or number
What Bank of Herrin will never do
• Call, text, or email asking for your password, login, or account credentials
• Ask for your PIN or one-time security codes
• Send you a link to log in to your account
• Pressure you to act immediately
